Chakrasana - Wheel Pose

Chakrasana - Wheel Pose

The name “Chakrasana” comes from the Sanskrit words “Chakra” which means the wheel, and the meaning of Asana is “Posture” or “seat”. Chakrasana or the wheel pose is a backward bending yoga asana. Chakra in Sanskrit means Wheel. In Wheel Pose, the final position looks like a wheel, hence the name. It gives great flexibility to the spine. It is called chakrasana since the body takes almost a wheel-like, semi-circular posture while performing this asana.

Science Behind Chakrasana

Science demands proofs. Now water is present, and science knows everything about the water. Religion says that God is present, but science has no evidence of God.

Similarly, spirituality says that the soul is present, but scientifically there is no proof of the soul at all. Similarly, scientifically, there is no proof of chakras inside a human body.

You cannot see any chakra on your body. That is why the question: are charkas real? But deep down you want to know: are chakras real? So, you are in a chakra to know. The energy that wants to know is in a chakra. It is revolving around the question to solve it.

But, chakra is a Sanskrit word, and it means a wheel or circle. And your life is like a wheel or circle. Everything in this universe is in a wheel or a circle. Our earth is revolving around the Sun. Sun is rotating around a much big center. The whole universe is circling. The entire universe is in a circle.

Now come to your life. You daily get up in the morning, and at night you sleep. You daily eat and defecate. You go to work every day at the same time and leave your work at an exact time. So, your whole life is in a whirl. You were born, and at last, you will die. And this happens with everybody.
